Hot tub delivery and backyard access in Pittsburgh
Western Pennsylvania yards are not always flat, wide or simple. Measuring the route before purchase prevents expensive surprises.
Measure the entire route
Check gates, side yards, deck openings, retaining walls, air-conditioning units, roof overhangs, utility meters and any tight turns. The spa normally travels on its side during parts of a standard delivery.
Think vertically too
Steps, steep grades, elevated decks and major retaining walls can change the equipment needed. Some properties require specialized handling or a crane. Those situations should be identified before the delivery is scheduled.
Prepare the foundation
A filled hot tub is heavy. It needs a stable, level foundation appropriate for the model and site. Concrete is common, but other engineered options may be suitable depending on the spa and manufacturer's requirements.
Leave room for future service
Do not design the backyard so tightly around the cabinet that technicians cannot reach service panels or equipment. A beautiful installation should still be maintainable.
Send photos early
Photos and measurements can help our delivery team identify obvious access concerns before delivery day. For unusual Pittsburgh-area sites, an on-site review may be appropriate.
